as a way to observe the lenten season, Christians practise fasting. fasting, according to religious authority and to the bible, is part of the old and news testament times. Moses fasted at least two recorded forty-day periods. Jesus fasted 40 days. it is also a biblical way to humble yourself in the eyes of God as what King David said, "I humble myself through fasting." it also restores our relationship to God and have an intimate relationship with the Lord. These are some of the spiritual benfits of fasting. On the hand, fasting may give you health benifits as well. It a form of detoxifying body wastes. (by the way, when someone is fasting it does not mean that you do not eat anything anymore within the 24 hours period. biscuits and water are still recommended to be taken). There are times that i do fasting, not necessarily during lent season only.
