Wearing Bathers!

My daughter has swimming lessons with her class this week and I have told her to wear her bathers under her uniform to make it easier for her. This is what the kids have done every other year. My daughters teacher has told the kids they are not allowed as it is very unhygienic. I went in to see her teacher to find out why she had said this. The teacher said it is because they will be in there bathers for most of the day, I replied to the teacher that she is in knickers all day. The teacher didn't know what to say after that and said that my daughter could wear her bathers under her uniform. When my kids have swimming lessons, I wash their bathers every night. I don't think the teacher should be saying things like this to the kids. My 7 year old daughter was so paronoid that on the first day she wore knickers under her bathers. Then today she was worried she was going to get into trouble for wearing her bathers under her school uniform. The teacher didn't even seem to have a good reason for why she thinks it's unhygienic. I think if they have any concerns that they should talk to the parents or send notes home. I know that there are a few parents upset by this as well. My daughter has come home with quite a few stories about this teacher. The teacher seems to be telling them a lot of strange things, like what they are allowed to eat, the bathers incident etc. I have had enough of it in a way because the teacher will say one thing and I will tell my daughter different and my daughter will say well the teacher says. This teacher is a young teacher and has had not had kids, I don't think she has had much experience with kids before. I think she really needs to be careful with what she says to the kids because parents have their way of raising their children and when you have a teacher come along and tell them something else, then it makes it harder for the parents. I have also noticed that she has the attitude of what she says is right and everybody else is wrong. She also seems more concerned about her appearance, rather than what is going on around her. Well, that feels better now that I have got that off my chest. Thanks for listening and would love to hear any advice or comments on this situation. Thanks!

Far out!! Just what is this teachers problem?? Maybe you could mention to the teacher that YOU are actually the childs mother and not her. What does she think is so unhygienic about wearing bathers under a school uniform. I wonder if she changes her underwear 3 or 4 times a day because its unhygienic? Dont let the teacher get away with it.

I swear that I nearly did yesterday. I have really had enough with this teacher. She couldn't give me an answer on why she thinks it is so unhygienic. I didn't ask if she changes her knickers 3 or 4 times a day, but trust me, I was very tempted. I am actually thinking of complaining to the principal. Thanks!

This is ridiculous, at my kids school they get the children to wear their bathers under their uniforms to make it easier on the children and to save time. I have never heard of it being unhygienic before.

That is what the other teachers at this school did too, it is just the teacher that my daughter has this year that seems to want to cause a problem about it. I really don't understand how she can think its unhygienic. Thanks!
