I have been a member for almost more than 2 weeks now. I must admit I was uneasy at first because of my low number of post and I was bothered why I haven't got a star too. The aprehension and fear was very stong for a while. But as I went on with my postings and knowing friends. I learned from supportive members that the star is for ratings, if I'm not wrong, something like that and the other number for posts.
A while ago, I noticed (I was checking a friend discussion I replied about star) and finally I had my star too, maybe because I have reach my 100 posts and I must admit it has a good number in it. Don't get me wrong I'm not bragging about it. Indeed, I wanted to say THANK YOU! THANKS TO ALL THE SUPPORT! For the endless pointers and advices, for inviting and accepting me as a friend despite the number of discussions that I have posted, which are only 2(^^,LOL^^,) for the appreciation you have shown for me and my posts, for the + ratings you gave me, I owe you my star.
I may not be able to thank you one by one. So I'll take this opportunity to say THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU! To all my friends who invited or accepted me, THANK YOU! to those who became close to my heart, I will always be here too to support you all. THANK YOU!

A 10 star rating with under 130 posts is quite, quite impressive! 500 posts is not that hard on a site like MyLot. You will want to post because this is truly an outstanding blogging community where you can get educated, have fun, and get paid! Take care.

Oh You are a lovely person and it is an honour to have you as a friend..Sorry I have been busy with cleaning and packing as I am flying next monday..but will pm you later with some bits and bobs..You have such a lovely and soft character that I am really pleased every time I get a message from you..takes away the pain I had when I watched Blood Diamond..can't get it out of my head at the moment.

Many congratulations hon on reaching your first mylot "milestone." The next one is the 500 posts and then you'll be able to use the copy and paste feature, and also add pictures to your responses as well as to your discussions.

thanks dear for all the postive ratings, but I don't think you can double them up anyway. I rate all the discussions that I respond to with a "+" I never give any "-" 'cos I do not respond to any negative discussions at all, so the oppurtunity never rises. I still do not respond to any appropriate number of posts, I reply to only good ones and sometimes they are limited to just 5-6 posts in a day. I do not overstretch myself into replying to posts, so I get to reply to quality posts only and I make sure I do have something to say rather than one liners where you actually are just more or less voting rather than sharing opinions. If you can share thoughts with like minded people Mylot becomes more intresting than just question and answering. What do you think?

Congrads, on reaching one hundred. Things are slow at first but as you post more, more people respond to you. As you can see you already have four pages of responses on this post alone. With the ratio that you are responding at you will have alot of friends replying when you post something. Welcome to mylot the next milestone is 500, I am almost there, can't wait.

I just wanted to stop in and tell you what an awesome job that your doing. Keep up the excellent quality, I see that your star already changed to the coveted blue 10. Most impressive.
I think that you have caught on very quickly on how it works around here.
Whether you have lots of time to spend here or only a few minutes a day. The most important thing to always remember is that it's about the quality and not the quantity. Although it doesn't appear that I really need to say that to you from the looks of things.
As you have already guessed friends here are very important. It's very refreshing to see a newbie doing such a great job. :)

Oh, to rate more than a plus... there is only one way. Give the person the best response. LOL.
You are right in your observations. However, I find to retain the star rating takes more than just receiving pluses. It seems to be affected too by how active you are in posting responses and the
quality of the responses posted. I have not seen the co-relation with posting discussions.
Anyway, since you have reach 100 posts, try targeting for 500 posts. You will be rewarded too with some benefits after having achieved it. I am sure you have read about it too or some friends have already shared with you :P

yes you get a star once you reach 100 posts, you have a very good start with a star of 9, I started with 7 and worked up to 10 currently :)
Keep posting good discussions and submitting good responses and you will go up in star and in earnings too :)

now only i understood how do u get the star ratings,i do rate the + for all my resposes..sometimes i doubted its not related to the subject also have to give ! but again i gave a + i dont know why..but i think most of the myloters r not known about it...
