People who forward stupid stuff through email.

There are certain people who always forward me things via email, and if it's not something cutesy, stupid and a waste of time, it's a hoax that they should have checked out before passing on. Usually, there is no personal message with these forwarded messages. Often, they forward things as attachments (a most irritating habit) and one has to open the 97 other attached forwarded messages to get to the original item, which wasn't worth it to begin with! What is with that? I try to reply to the hoaxes with a link to the snopes article that debunks the item, along with a message that says "please check these things out before you forward them". But still I get these stupid forwards from certain people rather than a simple "Hi, I was just thinking of you". I know this is a widespread thing, but tell me, would you rather receive no email from a person or these stupid forwarded things?

*laughs* Oh, that's a good idea! If I just start hitting reply and entering my referral URL, maybe they'll get the hint! Or maybe get at least as annoyed as I am.

I think I'm one of the sad people who like the silly, cutesy emails from my friends, even if there is no message attached to them. It usually cheers up what is otherwise a very boring work day! Most of my friends don't pass hoaxes on anyway and only pass on the funnies to friends who actually like them carefully taking out all the other attached messages aswell! Good discussion topic by the way!

*grins* Thank you, it's my first discussion topic. Guess picking a common irritation was good?

This is totally annoying. Even more so when ther is not even a hello at the begining. And you know they have sent the same message to god knows how many people and it's a lie if they say "I saw this and thought of you." I think friends should not be used as a lead system, friends are friends not somone you try to get to sign up for everything under the sun. I hate it when I get ones that say " was wondering what you think of my site." In other words they mean can you join my site!!! I would rather recieve no email from them than just a forwarded email full of crap. Sometimes I press reply and just put one of mu links or something, hoping they get it thinking yeah she took a look and they open it and get a dose of their own medicine!!HAAA!
