hello Barry fanatics! I just would like to know what are your Top Five Barry Manilow songs? Can you give a few lines of it? Since i am the one who started this discussion, i might as well post my answers. Well, here they are: Slot Five - Mandy - Oh Mandy, well you came and you gave without taking, but i sent you away oh Mandy..(this song became one of the top hits in 1975). On the no. 4 - Sandra - remember these lines " She says I swear I love my husband, and i love my kids, you know i wanted to be like my mother, but if i hadnt done as soon as i did...." (gosh! it's one song that melted my heart so much!sniff!) No. 3 is - Copacabana - oh god! this upbeat tunes that says " her name was lola, she was a showgirl..." you can dance on it.. top 2 - I Write the Songs - "I write the songs that make the whole world sing, i write the song of love and special things..." it's like it was written for me..he!he! AND! On the no. 1 spot - Somewhere down the road - "Our roads are gonna cross again, it doesnt really matter when.." -wow! it surely brings hope to two people in love...

#5 - New York City Rhythm - Having spent time in New York as a child the lines it home. "The Pounding beat of the city streets" #4 - Daybreak - No matter how crappy the previous day was, listening to this song every morning will make you snap your fingers and force you to have a great day. #3 - All the Time - If more people would listen to this song and realize how much time they are wasting worrying about things instead of moving on, the world would be a better place! #2 - Trying to Get the Feeling Again - Up and down, all around trying to get that feeling again. Most likely should follow the advice on #3 but still a great song. #1 - Weekend in New England - Starts slow, ends strong and my nominee for the best Barry Song that should be remade by Linkin Park or some heavy metal band. Strong emotional song for all those lost weekends. "Somewhere Down the Road" is not a bad choice but that song goes nowhere if Barry doesn't do this song first.

I love Barry Manilow music. His just seem to stick with me even after I turn off the CD. Some of the songs I love are "I Write The Songs", "Mandy", "Weekend In New England", "Read Em and Weep", "one Voice" and his duet "Run To Me". He's very good. He's just one I've always enjoyed. He seems to be a classic and he seems to get fans from all walks of life and music styles.

I really dont know how to put them in order because i think they should all be in top 2... Ready To Take A Chance Again I Made It Through the Rain Somewhere Down the Road Even Now my biggest favorite among Barry Manilow's songs is the little known song called Please Dont Be Scared... this song is somewhat my life's anthem, esp the lines: 'feeling pain is a hard way to know youre still alive, and someday someone will make you glad you survived'....
