hey guyz...orkut is really deleting profiles and all accounts by the end of this 2008. i have received scores of e-mails and gone through them. i found one really serious that came from some senior member of orkut. he said orkut is becoming too bulky for modern users and its time to close the site !
what are ur views on deleting profiles in orkut?

I think whether you might be bluffed my dear or your bluffing here hehehe.The main reason of my thinking is if they are closing why they have upgraded themselves?Changed to brand new look giving so many good features and many many other things,just be reasonable if they were to close they wont be doing that,now what do you think about it any good explanation for the upgrades?

It's funny that they're closing it down, I hadn't even heard of it until just now.
In my opinion, if they're having a rough time keeping up with the user load, then it's best that they fold now rather than go mainstream and THEN fold.
Of course, if I were a member, I'd probably be pretty ticked off if they were to up and delete my profile without my consent, and more upset if they closed without warning or explanation.

THIS IS A JOKE!! There are scores of such emails, messages, scraps, community postings floating around and you should ignore them all however authentic they may seem. Orkut wont close unless it gets into some legal problem (which is not unlikely!!) Server issues, member issues are usually temporary.
