The Worst Lifeguard title was given to Lorenzo Trippi from Ravenna, Italy. In 1995, 3 people from 3 different cases met the angel of death with the help from Mr. Trippi.
In every case Mr. Trippi banged the victims with the lifebuoy he threw to them, so the victim blacked out and drowned.

I think it's both funny and dreadful.. he must be very unfortunate guy, he is just trying to help and do his job.
