Are you afraid of success?

Everyone has a dream of what they would like to do with their' life. For some reason, a great many people just shelve their' dreams for fear of taking that first step. I know that some people are afraid that they will be a success and be noticed. If you haven't started working toward your' dreams, what is the reason?

You need to have the right mind set and to be motivated. Having a dream is one thing. Being able to plot the path to reaching it is something else. One needs to be able to stay focused on that one thing. Plan the work then work the plan. Some of us just don't have the necessary skills to do what it takes. I'd like to be a competent artist but I cannot draw. I hate failing so I give up too easily.

That is excellent advice! Plan the work and then work the plan. I like that! I hate failure too. But I'm stubborn and don't give up easily. Even when I should quit while I'm ahead.

You are right. It does take hard work to reach your' goals and become a success. I think some people can't handle the pressure of success but if you want your' dreams badly enough, you'll find a way to deal with the pressure. Congratulations on your' success!

Many years ago I was told that I had a 'fear of success'. I'd make excellent progress and then do something INCREDIBLY stupid to sabotage myself. I've got better over the years, but it is still a trait I have an it bugs the Hell out of me. I think it's a self-esteem issue - somewhere inside I don't think I deserve the real 'big hits' which is nonsense, of cousre, but it's still soemthing I need to work on.
