Drive in Resturants...

I really wish there were still some around where I live. My family tells me about them all the time, and it just sounds so fun, and neat. I went to one, in disney world, with the HUGE movie, and the food..in the car. It was a really fun exeriance. Have any of you ever been to one? Or are there any still around where you live? Why do you think they got rid of it??

I grew up with them, and loved it. Especially the gals in skates, and the tray on the car window for the best burgers, fries and shakes.
None around anymore.
I guess they were not cost effecient enough to keep.

i have beento a few in my life..when we lived in michigan there was one just across the mackinaw bridge that was called clydes they had awesome burgers and fries...

When I was a kid, we used to go to A & Ws all over the eastern seaboard. When I moved out to California, we had a few car hops, but finally, Sonics was the last one. Now, I don't see any anywhere in Southern California. I have no clue why they are shutting down. I guess they were just not popular. Drive-in Movies were the same way.

I know which place in Disney you are talking about. That was kinda neat how they had all that set up. I am pretty sure Sonics still does the whole order from your car and they bring it to you there but I am not sure because I went to one a while ago in LA. Also here there an A&W that does that.
