My dear co-Filipinos, especially the Manilenos? Whom do you think will be the next Mayor of Manila?

A close one. It's either Jimenez or Bacani. Why? Ali Atienza won't be getting the solid support of the Filipino-Chinese community this time around. Atienza was behind the disqualification of Harry Angpin, a former 3rd district congressman. Jimenez has money to burn. period. Bacani is supported by the Catholic Church (i.e. Bishop Teodoro Bacani) He has a strong following in Paco, Sta. Mesa and Sampaloc. Lim was cheated before. This was according to Alfredo Lim himself. Now what makes him so sure that he won't be cheated this time around?

It will be a fight among Atienza, Lim and Bacani but I think the closest will the former two. However, I believe that Atienza has more advantages than Lim -- he is very visible in the whole of Manila for many years working under his father and nobody could deny the fact that the Atienza mayorship had done a lot to put Manila back in shape -- though of course there is never a perfect administration. Lim is already old and had lost his clout and influence in Manila since he is concentrating in the Senate. My fearless forecast will be ALI ATIENZE -- the next mayor of Manila.

I think it'll be a tough fight. At this point of the campaign, I think it'll be a battle royale of sorts among Atienza, Lapid and Lim. I wonder if the winner will only garner a small advantage in terms of votes.
