How Do You Communicate With Friends/Family Who Are Abroad?

I generally use windows live messenger to communicate with my friends and cousins. How do you interact?

I mainly use Yahoo voice chat to communicate with my sis abroad. I also use MSN messenger to chat with my friends. Calling them us is so very expensive, so I use wherever possible Messengers, also send sms if the message is shaort and I require just a short answer from them

i communicate with my friends abroad by yahoo messenger and g talk..
