just admit. if people accuse you of lying, you'll be tipped off; most of which IS the truth that you lied, or you didn't actually lie, but didn't tell the truth that much, or you don't lie at all. why do people lie? for me, i lie mostly to protect my dignity. or shall we call that "ego"? hehe. sometimes we lie to protect people's feelings. bad. if that person does not return the favor, and blatantly hurt your feelings, you'll be awfully offended right. So, why do you lie? Was it good? Don;t you feel guilty after that?
