Ever Imagined you telling ur son over phone, "HOw is the weather on moon??" or "is it morning in ur side of moon???" i know its too hard to predict now, but reecntly i heard of people going to trip to space..isnt that exciting! though the cost is high , but with time it would reduce:) I feel there would be a time when humans will migrate to moon or even mars! the technology is growing at the best rate possible and so are humans! with no further scope of land on earth, i feel scientist would surely think of establishing some sort of enviroment for humans in moon to accomodate the population...wat do u think??? You think its possible???

I get a different feeling about that. It will not be easy for man to dwell there, but may go there for trips and visits, for a moonly experience. But yes, I can imagine man dwelling on other planets like Mars, where traces of water has been found.

maybe someday people would migrate to moon even mars. because on the earth was very over population. there have been many trouble on the earth. i don't know how will people in the future. it must be very terrific. people can travel to the moon with pay high cost ride like elevator, that's imposible, isn't? but the scientist make a real. how is amazing!!

Even if my child is unable to live on the Moon I am sure my grandchildren will have a chance. People will build bio spheres on the Moon in which you can live as if you are on earth. A new sport that people will be engaged in will be flying. Though impossible on Earth, with a grvity six times lesser, people will be able to tie wings to the hands and fly as a sport.

This sounds really neat. I would love to go on a space shuttle to the moon or any other planet. Maybe one day it will happen.

I saw an interview with Sally Ride once in which she had mentioned something similar, only it was pertaining to Mars. It is definitely a place where we can imagine building a small base camp that is staffed with people periodically to perform scientific research the same way geologists are sent out to explore different parts of earth. However, there is no way anyone could walk on Mars without a space suit for protection from the cold and the very thin atmosphere. As far as the planet being migrated to and eventually populated, people HAVE talked about terraforming (sp?) the planet (making it more like earth so that it would be hospitable to life like us), however, that would literally take hundreds and thousands of years. The same is probably true of the moon as well. It surely won't be populated in our lifetime. Is it possible? I wouldn't say it could never be done, but it is a good hundreds and hundreds of years off from where we are now. Slightly related, the space shuttle program at NASA is going to be replaced in a few years with the next space flight program which has been nicknamed "Apollo on Steroids." Its plan is to travel back to the moon. So we might at least be seeing astronauts heading back up there a few years from now.

Yes, I can imagine that my son would call me someday and ask " Dad, howz weather on earth ." Yes, I won't dare to move out of our planet, Earth .I have heard of ashes been disposed in tablets in space and it's very cheap too. That day is not too far when criminals will be sent to mars or jupiter for their life imprisionment. lol Costing won't matter if they sent all politicians out of this earth hehehehe . Scientists are searching enviroment on all possible planets and they admit it's hard for them to create enviroment that's why they are seeking for planet with enviroment so that they don't need to start from A .

scientist are searching for an already ready place which supports life but i feel its not possible to find such, atleast not in this solar system! and i guess creating an artificial enviroment would cost the world everything it has in terms of money! i like the idea of sending criminals there...a nice punishment for them...

Yes, well it is very hard to predict for now about how we would feel asking our children about living on the moon, oh yes I have heard of people going on a trip to space as well. Well some people may want to go to the moon but as for me I would not want to go there as I believe that I was put on this earth and this is the place for human beings to be not on the moon, as I believe in God and he created earth for us human beings not the moon, so that is why I would not like to live there but others have their own opinion.

it's a nice thought..but at the rate NASA is going,i think colonization is a long time away.it's too bad,i would have loved to have seen it in my lifetime, but i don't think it's going to happen. would have been cool to see an earth rise one evening..

I don't think any of us myLotters will ever dwell on the moon, but I think that there will be NASA astronauts who will establish a permanent base there sometime in the next decade. I think it will take a couple more generations before average citizens will think about moving there. And they would have to be average rich citizens because of the high cost of getting there.

Many shows make jokes that we will live on the moon. There were shows that said we'd have spaceships by now that could take us to colonies we'd build in no time. I 'd bet that only people of the government could live on the moon until at least 300 years pass. Then, maybe, they'd let an average person buy land - if he or she could afford it.
