Moms do you have stash goodies?

A friend of mine and I were talking about certain goodies that we stash from our kids, certain types of candy (cadbury cream eggs being number one on our list) and certain types of ice cream (I highly recommend Diet Another Day by Blue Bunny!)... that we eat when our kids aren't around. We even shared a laugh about eating in front of them and justifing it by saying that ice cream and candy just aren't good for kids! What about you? Do you have certain goodies that are reserved for you alone? What's your normal hiding spot?

My partner has a hiding spot...but I always find it. LOL He seems to think that if he leaves the food item in the shopping bag and put it at the top of the pantry, it is safe. Umm...sorry...wrong! No...not that I eat it. I can't! I wish I could! But I can't. But I do tease him about it. He will even sneak one and hide from the kids when he is eating it. As if I don't know what he is doing! As soon as he comes back with sweet breath, he is busted! LOL Oh! And I have ice cream in the freezer that is off limits to everyone because it is made with Splenda. :) The kids have their popsicles...so they have no reason to touch my ice cream. hehe

Hahaha! But, if he took it all out, you would see the piles of cherry pies and still be mad. What if he thought that you would then have to wonder what is in the bag, then ask, then look yourself, then get in trouble....that would take longer for you to notice what it actually is!! LOL You cannot hide anything from a moma...they do have super powers!! :)

I agree. It is not a very good hiding place! LOL But I guess he would then use it as a means to say that he did it to hide it from my eyes. LOL Doesn't work. Of course I am going to wonder what is in the bag!

Well, yeah, isn't that what every good mother is supposed to do? Isn't the fear of childhood obesity enough to scare you into stashing it for yourself? You know that you will exercise, at least you are pretty sure you will, well - maybe you will, sure you will, right after you get up from that nap after the sugar rush burns out. As for the ice cream, ima, there really is no good "secret" place to put it. It has to go into the freezer and then it can be seen by all. My children are all grown now, but you can use the stand-by mother response, "don't open that Freezer door, you'll let all the cool air out and the food will spoil!" My favorite hiding spots were always in plain view, but in places my children would never think of looking.....behind the vacuum cleaner, on the same shelf as the canned vegetables but behind them, (in a box) under the laundry, in the washer. All of these places worked very well for me. Thank you for the smile ~Donna

Well, I am not a mom...so I do not have to right to stash goodies. But, I do have a mom and dad that do! LOL My dad's "hiding spot" for things is so obvious. Sometimes, the ones that I find or notice at least. He doesn't really try to hide it from the kids, it is just mainly my mom. But, she always finds it. My mom on the other hand, I do not think that she hides anything. You know that it is hers and you better not touch it unless she asks or you will lose a finger. LOL :) So, yes my mom and dad do have stashed goodies that are theirs!!

LOL You are kidding, do parents really do this? I have never had a stash of food that was reserved just for me. LOl that is so funny to think that parents hid the treats from the kids like that.

I will hide my dark chocolate from my kids and hubby. I don't know why, hubby doesn't like it and my kids don't care for it either. I think it just makes it taste that much better if it is hidden from everyone! I have a little gift bag on my dresser in our bedroom that I have a few things in and I hide the chocolate on the bottom =)
