Next year my 5 year old twin boys will be starting big school. I also will be attending college. I'm really concerned about hectic mornings, 3 showers the night befor, homework, exams, housework etc... im getting overwhelmed and there are still months befor it gets here. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and what kind of things could i do to make things run smoothly? any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, do not panic - plan instead! I worked when Bong was tiny and it worked like this. Put whole outfits on hangers so you only have to get socks and pants out of the drawer. Get them out the night before and put wherever they will be dressing. Put cereal bowls etc out under a cloth the night before so you only need to get toast, juice etc - it's all waiting for you. Make sure clean towels etc are ready for the shower and toothpaste tube and brushes are on the sink. Breakfast - shower - dress. Make easy teas and if possible make extra and freeze some for nights when you are held up. When the boys are in bed do the packing-up ready in the fridge and any ironing. Load the washer so it can go on overnight - if neccessary load the tumbler too. Load the dishwasher straight after tea so you will not come home to a mess. Put washing out to dry before the boys get up. Get yourself up and ready first, then at least you will feel happy about how you look and feel confident for college! Make sure you fill the car with petrol at the weeked to save extra stops on the way. Good luck - it'll be worth it when you get through college!

Hi! I can help! I almost have it down to a science now! I have four kids and one on the way. The oldest two go to school, while the youngest two stay home with me. So here's what I do. They get bathed at night unless your kids have accidents occasionally I would do this. If they have accidents sometimes, waiting til morning is best so you don't have to give them another bath, just one! Next I always lay out their clothes (at least for the oldest two, but i try to do everyones) on their bedroom floor after they fall asleep so when they wake up they know where it is to get dressed. I decide what breakfast is going to be at night, and I prepare! If it's eggs I get out the frying pan, if it's pop tarts I get out the packages and put them on paper plates so all i have to do is unwrap in the morning. At night have an activity for the boys to do, while you do your homework. It can be a movie, coloring, playdoh, anything to keep them quiet, or do the homework when they go to bed. At 5 my kids didn't have any homework. So maybe yours wont either! You might be overwhelmed at first, but I bet within a weeks time you guys will be old pro's! :) good luck!

well thank you so nuch for your help. My kids will only eat things like bacon and eggs for breakfast. if i can get away with french toast im doing goo. So i thought i could cook bacon and sausages and leave it in the fridge, it will keep for a couple of days anyway. My mom sais just get them use to cereal. but yeah those were wonderful ideas and im know you've just made things a little easier for me. good luck with your new baby and lookin after all those kiddies. how do you do it? how do you have time for mylot? hats off to you... mandy
