What are some of the biggest lessons your mother taught you? Which ones are you most grateful for? Will you pass those same lessons onto your children?

My mother was very tough on me and she was very lenient with my brother. She babied my brother and she didn't baby me. I am glad she didn't now. She taught me many lessons. Never believe what you hear and only half of what you see, actions speak louder than words, pay your bills and put money away even if it is .50 cents a week, it adds up. Don't pay everything with credit cards, use cash. Since my mom was so tough on me, I am able to handle any situation, regardless. My brother however is having hard times and is falling apart. She wonders why he is having such a hard time and why he is so angry and depressed all of the time. I told him taht she didn't equip hiim with the same values as me. He doesn't handle stress as well because mom always took care of everything for him. I teach my daughter the same thing. I teach her the value of money, I teach her that bills come first then fun. I try to instill the values I had in her. I am very tough on my daughter, but she will thank me later.
