My nephew's birthday is fast approaching and I have no idea what to get him. He is turning three years old and is a very active, happy kid. They own house and therefore, have a nice large yard for him to play in. I don't mind spending a bit on him since he is the only child, other than my baby in our family. What sort of thing would you suggest to buy him for his birthday?

Great idea, he doesn't have a sandbox yet but maybe I could get one or help his father and my sister make one!

at home depot they have in the kids section for outdoor toys these amazing bags of coloured sand. it cost a bit more but it's so fun for them to have blue sand, or red or whatever other colour they have.

Thanks Poppoppop! I wish we had colored sand back when I had a sandbox, that would have been much more fun.

i love the electronic learning toys. the leapfrog systems and the v-tech learning things are so helpful and fun. but for something to play with outside for an active child a bouncer thing is great. i bout my daughter this castle jump-o-lene thing and she loves it. it was a good price on ebay brand new. it's a lot safer than a tramponine and you can put those balls in it to make a ball pit as well. she's had it for almost 2 1/2 years now. and it's still in good shape.

I never would have thought of that, I had no idea you could buy a bouncy house for kids! Ebay is great I got my daughter a few things on there brand new for way less then retail!

I've seen some pretty cool water/sand tables at Target. If I had tons of money, I'd go broke at Target, they also have teepees and tents with tunnels for them to crawl through. We recently got our son a little plastic slide, he loves it, there's a spot where he can crawl underneath. Good luck!

I'll definitely have to take a look at Target when I go on vacation to the US next month. I imagine I could find those things on the website as well or ebay. Thanks for the ideas. I used to have a big swing and slide set when I was little, I might grab him a child sized one if I can find a great price.
