What are the ways to reduce humidity

With summer already at its peak, the temperature here is not that high, but our place being highly humid, it is very uncomfortable. My question is, what all techniques can be used to reduce the humidity level can be reduced, so that the sweat gets evoporated. (Any suggestions other than air conditioner?)
