Life without light!

Can you imagine yourself living your life without light? When I was young, there is no such thing as island power so we should be sleeping before 7pm unless we want to stay up in darkness.

I am spoiled I want running hot and cold water, I want light, heat and air conditioning.
I would survive if we had no power it would be a matter of getting use to using fire to cook and driking fluids room temperature and going to bed at sun down and getting up at sunrise.
Being raised in California USA I am spoiled we always had power. I have never lived in an area where the weather has been so bad that the power was turned off for days I have been lucky.
