Smart way to handle injuries

The news from Joe Louis was that Lidstrom, Hasek, and Bertuzzi were all skating in practice. Maybe Detroit finally learned not to push it when it comes to injuries leading into the playoffs. I wouldn't doubt that Nick and Dom were capable of playing the games they missed, or that Todd could have finished the game with Chicago after his collision with Ozzie. The Wings are finally playing it smart and not risking it. Even if the players 'probably' could have gone, there's no urgency to win these last few games. They're in the playoffs no matter what the outcome, so why should they risk the possibility of injury? This gives the guys a chance to heal up, and to make sure that the healing they have been doing is total rather than 'enough to play' like they usually would. It's inevitable that players are going to be nursing injuries throughout the playoffs that will NOT keep them from hitting the ice. Why add to that before the playoffs have even started? The Wings are about as healthy as they could hope to be. We'll see if they can pull it off in the playoffs.
