Do your kids get hyped up on too much chocolate?

My wife and I try to keep our 4yr old sons intake of lollies and chocolate fairly low, but this time of the year we let him have more than usual. Just thinking back to last easter, he was a bit ratty for a while. Is it just the extra chocolate or the whole easter bunny thing, or a combination of both. Do you have probs with your kids?

We let our kids go crazy on Easter. They can eat as much chocolate and candies as they want....as long as they eat Breakfast lunch and dinner. They are hyped up for the day but after that the candy is pretty much gone and things return to normal.

Yep, I think it's harder to be strict at Easter time. We tend to ration the chocolate out over a period of a week or more. Don't know whether it's a good thing or not, but seems to work ok.

My middle son, Jacob, (3 yrs old) is hyperactive to begin with and if you add sugar to the mix you know he will be bouncing off the walls. We had a early easter at my mother-in-laws yesterday and everyone brought chocolate. They had plastic easter eggs hidden around the house when we got there, but told my boys to wait until the other kids got there. My Wife gave them each one chocolate to "tide" them over. Her mistake was that Jacob saw that the chocolate came from the plastic egg. SO......once the hunt was on the kids started to notice ALOT of the eggs were empty! Jacob had carefully and quitley (not like him at all) went around and opened the eggs, took the chocolates out and then closed and put the eggs back into their hiding spots. Quite humourous actually, but he was very hyper and didn't eat much real food all day. My three older nephews were there though to wear him out, oh, and he slept over at my Mother-in-laws place. I hope she got some sleep! Now we go to my parents today to go through it all again.

Quite clever of him, and ok if you had the others to help use up the extra energy. Good luck for today!
