I come from the old school of parenting. If you are cold, the child will be cold. Dress appropriately for the weather. If it is frigid cold out, stay home where it is warm & dry. Tomorrow is another day to go visiting or shopping.

I grew up in Denmark, a very cold Scandinavian country, so I grew up in the cold. In Denmark mothers put there babies outside to sleep in their huge baby carriages, and I think the midwifes and health care proffessionals state that you should not put your child out to sleep, if there is less than -5 degrees celcius, about 25 degrees Farenheit.
I have put my sons out to sleep (in Denmark) many times, but not in cold weather. My reason for this is that they both have asthma, and the asthma seems to get worse when it is cold, I know that mine does.

If you have to take the baby out be sure the ears are protected from the wind and cold. I always make sur they are bundled and blanketed and never keep them out in it too long. Its not good to be too cold for a long period of time. I think it lowers their resistance.
