Menopause for men is not a joke, but a very real thing that men can suffer from for many many years. As men age, they lose testosterone. There is a male version of hormone replacement therapy. It is called Andropause, some call it manopause. When men go through this, they can suffer through despair, anger, impotence, and a range of other symptoms. Hormone replacement therapy can give them a new lease on life.

thanks for sharing this. a lot of men would refuse to believe that they, too, undergo what used to be just a "girl thing". lol.

Through the years society has viewed the word menopause as something that only happens to women. Fatigue, hot flashes, infertility, severe mood swings, all symptoms of female menopause have recently been reported to be symptoms of male menopause. Men have been experiencing these symptoms for years, but have been attributing them as signs of aging or have chosen to keep these symptoms silent. Recently, more men have been speaking out about these symptoms, therefore, researchers have been able to repo rt in fact that there is a male menopause. The symptoms of menopause are psychological and physical therefore can be compared to the female mid-life syndrome menopause.Male menopause involves the hormonal, physiological and chemical changes that occur in all men generally between the ages of 40 and 55. It is a physical condition with psychological, interpersonal, social and spiritual dimensions.

As an over 40 man, I am well aware of Andropause or viropause. But today with the help of hormone treatments, Cialis and Viagara, things are getting a lot better for men. But alas, except they recognize it early and get immediate help and treatment, the road ahead could be long, full of depression and loneliness.
