I'm in the market for a new digital camera. I need to photograph specifically jewelry, family stuff so I want something that will be good for both. I have read different camera reviews but really came up empty handed, I'm not a proffesional so most of those proffesional terms mean very little to me I need something that is very user friendly I am a quick learner and willing to learn as long as I can understand what its saying. Help what kind of camera do i need

If you are going to photograph jewelry, be sure you get a camera with what is called a 'macro' setting. It will allow you to take sharp, clear pictures at extreme close-up range. You might also want to be sure you have control over whether or not the flash goes off. Sometimes the camera will put the 'use flash' icon up, but there are situations (especially with close-ups of jewelry) where the flash does more harm than good. Personally, I use an Olympus Camedia C-765 Ultra Zoom. I love it and have gotten such fabulous results with both jewelry and close-ups of things like flowers and other small objects. I hope this helps.
