My daughter was not a big mover in the belly when I carried her and my son was and there is an old wise tale that goes like this ... if they are active in the belly they will be passive in life and the reverse if they are inactive in the belly and this is one wise tale that I can vouch that is true. My son was very active when I carried him and he is the most laid back easy going guy around, even at the age of 25 years old. So don't be concerned, I am sure your baby will be very active when he/she comes to the world.

I too felt my daughter at 16/17 weeks, but by 20 weeks in this pregnancy (I'm now 24) weeks I hadn't felt anything. I was really worried, but then my ultrasound showed that indeed he moves a LOT, but my placenta is right at the front so it was cushioning a lot of the blows. By about 22 weeks though I started feeling him, and now, two weeks later, I'm feeling him all the time. It's still very faint compared to how it was for my first pregnancy, but there's no mistaking the kicks now, they get stronger every single day. If you are very worried have a chat to your midwife about it. I'm sure everything is fine. Maybe the amount of fluid means that you're not feeling the kicks much, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about though.

Well if she was moving in the ultrasound then more than likely she is moving now... but she isn't moving enough for you to feel her. Everything is probably ok.. but if you are worried then you should visit the doctor :)

I was pregnant with twins in 1998. i never felt the first kick until 20 weeks...and there were two of them in there!!!! It just depends on the fetus and where they are positioned. I went into the ER at 24 weeks complaining that I couldn't feel either one of them kicking or moving...i thought that i might be miscarraging...after and ultrasound, he said 'they are just sleeping". Apparently, walking around and doing your daily activities is like rocking a cradle to your little one. They just go to sleep. They are more likely to "wake up" when you are asleep, but maybe we were so tired that we slept through their little kicks and fist fights! See your doctor just for piece of mind...it eased me. by the way, I had twins 1 girl 5 pounds 7 oz 1 boy 6 pounds 11 oz yup...i was big!!!!!

with my first son I felt hardly no movement the whole pregnancy. My placenta was backward there's a thin side and a thicker side. normally the thick side is in the back well mine was in the front. I forget exactly what it was called but I had to be monitered all the time. It sure was a big shock when I had my second baby and felt everylittle movement.
