i think from her recent divorce, the song describes her feelings that she needs to love herself more than she loves others so that she won't hurt her feelings anymore.

i still just can't understand why? we all created to love and be loved. its not love if u cannot give ur soul to the person u love..

she already did but i think that nick cheated on her that's why they are divorced now... she wouldn't marry at a young age if she doesn't love him that much that she gave her soul... im relating her song to her life...

as far as i have understood the song, it kinda goes like the girl is saying that even though she is in love, or had been in love, in the end, she is still the owner of her heart, and no one else could take it away from her. :) i mean, she can give a piece of herself but nevertheless, there is still a part of her that will always belong to her. :)

I think the song means that every person understands himself, knows himslef more than anyone else knows and is always with himself whatever may be the reason be it sorrow or happiness.I think it describes the phrase every man is alone in a crowd
