I think that religion limits our human's ability. In other word religion is known as belief, because of religion, most of the questions that cannot not be answered scientificly will be solved by using the word "god" (owner of religions) Without religion i think human will be more practical. What is you opinions about having religion?

It is a method of shaping society for "good." If people believe that they will be eternally damned for doing certain things, they will be less likely to do those things. It is a method of keeping fear in peoples' minds in order to have order in this world. that is all i think of it.

I disagree, religion does not have any true moral framework that is not rooted in the psychological and sociological definitions given to it by people outside of religious context. It is not a method of shaping society for "good". It is a method of control and a way for people to believe in answers to questions they would not otherwise know, and do not wish to admit they do not know. I know it is difficult to observe my last paragraph as a tolerant one. That is my opinion, but I do not believe in forcing it upon others. I also respect those with religious beliefs, although I disagree with them. Draven the Respectful Atheist http://dravenwriter.blogspot.com

I agree that religion is a means of making broad assumptions or finding comfort by a semblance of absolute knowledge or fact when in reality there is none available. I respect that other people believe differently. I can not say for sure whether I think society as a whole would be better off without religion. That could only happen if other core issues were resolved, so we would be better off in that case anyway. Not because of a lack of religion though, only because of an increased ability to observe personal responsibility, etc. Draven the Respectful Atheist http://dravenwriter.blogspot.com
