good friends, what is a true friend to you?

i have 1 true friend, he has been my friend twenty seven years now. a true friend in my mind is almost like a marriage. we have both been married an divorced he has raised two twin girls who are now twenty two years old. but through it all good bad indifferent, we have remained good friends, i am now sick with cancer at 44 years old. i will be moving back to our childhood home for the fifth time now. he will be there in new orleans to pick me up. i guess that is why you cannot have ten best friends. it would be like halving a wife, and a few girlfriends, it would be a lie. what is a true friend to you, do you have one?? mahalo from oahu, lopaka
