what you watch on televisions

Television exerts a great influence on people watching them.But how truthful or accurate are the contents communicated to people ? advertisements can be misleading and news can be distorted according to who is communicating them.

I'm a TV goer,just finished the 3rd editon of the 4400, most of the contents are imaginary,but I still enjoy it to my heart's content. To me, what counts is not the true information conveyed, rather I would like to experience sth I would never do in the reality through tv shows.
