Countless theories attempting to explain the many disappearances have been offered throughout the history of the ara.The most practical seem to be environmental and those citing human error. The majority of dissappearance can be attributed to the area's unique environmental features. First, the "Devil's Triangle" is one of the 2 places on earth that a magnetic compass does point towards true north.Normally it points towards magnetic north. The difference between the two is known as compass variation. The amount of variation changes by as much as 20 deg as one circumnavigates the earth. If this compass variation or error is not compensated for, a navigator could find himself far off course and in deep trouble. An area called the "devil's sea" by Japanese and Filipino seamen , located off the east coast of Japan , Also exhibits the same magnetic characteristics. It is also known for its mysterious disappearance.

i personally think that the bermuda triangle is a story made up to explain away human stupidity. i believe that magnetic storms cause navigation equipment to act up to a point where technology oriented people are unable to work out what to do, so they end up in trouble, so why not use an ancient legend to explain that they could not navigate by the stars so they got lost lol. we have a similar legend down here in tasmania, off the north coast in bass strait, the whole thing started when a young cesna pilots eratic radio messages did not make sense, he reported seeing strange lights and that his compass was acting strange, the pilot and plane disappeared without a trace. now our expert answer was that he flew into a storm and some how end upside down disorriented he was reporting the reflections of his own lights on water as strange lights and they think that he ended up crashing into the sea, but the funny thing is if he had crashed into bass strait you would think that the search party would have found debri, but no debri was ever found and no evidence of a plane ever being up in the sky over flinders island was ever reported and land searches found nothing either, so maybe magnetics can be a problem in navigational equipment to a point of allowing these wild stories to get started, but while the stories are being changed and theorised and all sorts of people are coming up with different ideas on the subject, we will never know the truth aye lol

I have long been intrigued by the Bermuda Triangle. I like to watch movies pertaining to this area. I have watched documentaries on this area. And do you know that no one can truly find out what happens. The theory you posted makes the most sense to me. You would think with all the technology that we have at our hands that we could figure out this mystery for sure. But it still remains a mystery.
