I posted earlier that my student had scoliosis and that they were considering surgery. Well, today, her mom told me that they have set a date and it's in July. Of course, I wish her well, and promised her I'll be there. I have seen the scoliosis surgery online, it seemed like a regular procedure. I've even sent it to her parents for viewing. The site is www.or-live.com if you are interested. My question is should i let her know about the operating procedure? Will it calm her or just make her more nervous. What do you think?

I'd let her parents tell her if she wanted to know. I knew what was happening, my mother had the doctor tell me. I was really interested in what is going to happen to me. He also told me he had done this surgery tons of times without any complications-I think that's what made me feel the best.
