If faced with an issue would you report a family member for child neglect/abuse? If you report it would you report anonomously? Or would you rather try to solve the matter directly with that person? How would you approach them without making them feel like you are out to get them or just cause trouble?

I would try to approach that family member first before getting any outside sources invovled. I would try to explain to them that I am only looking out for the childs best interest and that I don't mean any harm, that I just want to help in any way I can. If I didn't see the situation improve in a certain amount of time and felt the child was in serious danger I would report the parent anonomously.

I would first approach the family member and try to intervene. The person may not even realize they're abusing or neglecting the child. I'd offer whatever help I could; then, if that didn't remedy the situation, I would report it-and not anonymously.
