How do you fix a scratched on your car?

I had a scratched on the driver side door of our car, what's the best way to fixed it? Will it help to cover it with sticker? or will the sticker makes it worst in the long run? How about a spray paint will this help? I am concern moisture will come and will cause it to rust.

My husband contated a dealership and got the name of the color of the paint on his truck. he then went to Walmart and they have these little dauber things in the autoparts of different car colors and sure enough his color of blue was there. he touched it up and left it be and after the next wash and wax it is almost not visible unless you really look for it. (You can buy the touch up paint from the dealership too but cost more.)
