The real culprits are the media. India is a very average team and it is because of the media hype, they are projected as a great team. India has a few good players (players who play for their records and dont bother about team winning) and rest of all doesnt contribute. Selection is also in a way added to the disaster. Sehwag, Agarkar should not be taken in. Instead Suresh Raina, Sreesanth should be in.

Some what you are right, players who has potential should be taken given chance to play, they had given chances to those players who played well in sub-continents rather than who played overseas.Sehwag,Agarker,Harbhajan,Dhoni are good players of sub-continent pinches not for overseas. They just wasted the talent of Sreesanth,Irfan,Raina,Dinesh Kartik.

i think selectors are the real culprit.because they cant take the right team.the bowling selection is very disaster.Agarkar, saheer, kumble and harbajan are not a better choice.

Media is the real culprit. Compared to other teams, India was very very average team. Due to so much of media hype players were thinking like "they have already won the cup". And the performance of the players was very very bad. Adde to it, stupid captaincy and hi profile coach for a really low grade team. So everything jumbled up and so the result.
