I always keep my promises, but am very cautious as to what people ask. Ever had someone ask you to promise them you aren't going to die? Can't make ridiculous promises which you know you have no control over. I think once someone has given their word, you should be able to rely on them to keep it.

They say that promises are meant to be broken. I agree with that, so many people out there who ain't got "palabra de honor". They tend to break it. As much as possible, i don't want to give promises to somebody cause i might not be able to keep that or anything to that extent. I know how it badly feels when someone breaks her/his promise to me you know. (",)

Some years ago I used to make promises then have problems keeping them. It wasn't that I was deliberately trying to break them, it's just that I was over-stretching myself . I'd try and pack too much in to my days, and I also found it difficult to say 'No' to someone. I didn't like this state of affairs and I found that it caused me, my friends and family a lot of pain. Now I'm more caustious in my promises. If I make a promise then I wholeheartedly will keep it. If I'm ill or soemthing similar crops up, I'll maybe put it off for a day or two until I'm well, but I will keep it. And, I make fewer promises!
