Are you opinionated or diplomatic?

Do you consider your self to be opinionated or diplomatic? I tend to be diplomatic. There are a few things that I feel strongly about, but for the most part, I think that there are many points of view on any given topic and I don't think that any one point of view, is necessarily the correct one. If you are opinionated, do you feel the need to share your point of view? If so, why? For those of you who are diplomatic, how do you feel when a person strongly expresses an opinion that you think is narrow minded. What do you do?

A think of myself a little of both, I try to be diplomatic while voicing my opinion .. No one wants anyone to shove their opinions down someone's throat. But if you voice your opinion in a way that make the listener more perceptive to it then you have accomplished being diplomatic and opinionated. I also like to support anything that I claims as facts with supporting documentation if available. I don't feel that I need to drill my points or opinions into anyone. But if when I do voice my opinion or points and it helps someone in any way then I'm happy and glad to help them. Thank you for your post I really enjoyed it. have a nice day

i'm pretty opinionated but i often dont voice them out loud,i often just sit back happy in the knowledge that i know i'm right....i try to get my husband to keep some of his opinions to himself because i dont want him teaching our daughter to unaccepting of others and rtheir views...i tell my family all the time just because you think itin your mind, doesnt mean it has to come out of your mouth..

That's a great quote. I wish my family would pratice that more. I am surrounded by opinionated people that feel the need to offer up their opinion without being asked. Maybe that's why I tend to be more dipolmatic. I know how hurtfull people can be, even when they think they are being helpful. Thanks for the reply!

I would say I'm opinionated but I bite my tongue and try to be diplomatic. I have this terrible problem of not pulling any punches, If my opinion is asked I tell it like I see it (my old boss never quite knew what to say he he).

I am a very opinionated person, I think that life is boring without people having contrived opinions. However, when it is not appropriate to voice my opinion, I am a diplomatic person. I feel it is a case of balancing between the two and finding a good compromise. x

I hope I am not narrow minded, I try to keep an open mind and hear everyone out, but I think we all have our moments where we hear things and just close our ears and don't want to hear anymore.

I like to hear others oppinions. I find that a lot of time no one oppinion is the correct one. It is ussually a combination of oppinions that is correct. If I think some one is being narrow minded I will tell them and tell them why I think that.

Opinionated because they are part of my personality and if something is good or bad, I should take part in highlighting it. Sometimes I tend to be diplomatic if the situation does not need my opinions that much.

I tend to be diplomatic. Being diplomatic and politically correct is safer nowadays. Lol. Actually there are situations when saying the truth may be regarded as being rude. Then you have to say the truth in a round way. But I often fail to become perfectly diplomatic, because I have a tendency to say things flat-on-face.
