Controversial book

Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie was the first major controversial book i came across. i remember it very well. it was banned in many countries. fatwa was being issued with a big prize money for Rushdies head by iranian religious leader ayatholla khomeini. Da Vinci code did not kickup the kind of dust satanic verses did. but a few over enthusiastic priests did try their hand. when they saw no church goes is out there to back them, they cancelled their agitations and decided to sit back and read or watch the movie. the other one controversial books is "In God's Name" by David Yallop which was banned by vatican. they have given instruction to all believers not to read it. even though it was not publicised much.
