I love Amazon.com, really I do, because they are so friendly towards international buyers, for the most part. But I really, really wish they would make all the unbox video downloads available worldwide. I looked up The Lake House today but found that it is not available for my location so I am once again hit with a roadblock in my quest to see this movie the legal way!! (See my other post!) I don't understand why unbox video downloads cannot be available worldwide...it's not like we can pirate the film from this download...or can we? Because I wouldn't know how to do it anyway! I just want to watch the movie!! Why can't I?

I think unboxed video downloads are very easy to pirate even if it has some restrictions on it, like some sort of code so you won't be able to copy it to another computer. A lot of hackers nowadays breaks those kinds of code easily so I think video distributors are wary about this kind of distribution, so they don't usually make it available worldwide. If you really want to own it, just buy the DVD or do what the rest of us do, download it form file sharing networks. LOL.

But downloading from file-sharing is the same is piracy...and I don't want to support piracy! But I see what you mean about Unbox videos. And...yes, buying the DVD is what I usually do, but that takes far longer than an instant video download!

Sorry, I didn't mean to promote piracy, but I hate to admit that it's what I do, download from file sharing networks, that is, boxed DVDs are just too expensive in my country.

I can understand the problem with overpriced items in some countries...don't worry I have friends who do the same or similar as you, because the prices of the originals are prohibitive...I feel bad because it's not the right thing to do but I have to understand their point of view as well, and as long as I don't promote it myself, everyone is free to do as they choose!

I've been using amazon for years now and have never had a single complaint. In fact, I'm thinking of opening a storefront there.
