Recently the school I go to has been making budget cuts, particularly in sports, but yet the are spending more money on things like computers and stuff. Maybe it's just me but I think that sports build a lot more character in kids than a new computer.

Hey I don't think you have a clue. Ha ha I mean sports aren't that important whats important is becoming more educated to make it to college and succeed in life. So I think your High School is making the right descision. Correct me if you think I'm wrong.

But don't you think that sports will have a good play at developing the kids, too? This will be in the aspect of exercises to develop them physically and also sports has been proven to help in developing self confidence among those who indulge in sports. Physical strength is also needed to boost the mental capacity of students. A student who exercises physically regularly is normally less prone to getting sick. It might do well not to neglect this aspect of curricular activities in schools. After all, sports need not eat up a big budget requirement.

I have to agree with you, sports are going to build so much more character then having the most up to date equipment in the schools. The schools already have computers, so there is no reason to update when there aren't sufficient funds.

I wonder why schools will have to make sports suffer so much in favor of computers. School budgets for sports is relatively small as it is. I believe that there is no need to cut on them to feed on the computer requirements. The budget for computers are supposed to be generated from the fees collected from the students who will be enrolled in subjects which require the use of the items. It will be good to remind the schools that they are supposed to campaign for the student availment of sports, too. This cliche about 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy' will forever hold true among students.
