do you believe that the next generation is doomed economically and mentally not knowing anything at all.

No generation has a monopoly of knowledge or genius. The people of the olden days probably thought that our own generation would know nothing and thus would suffer badly. How wrong they must have been! Indeed, the children of today grasp things faster because of better facilities that make learning much easier. They will transform this world into heaven in the next 50 years(if they don't end up destroying the world with negative inventions).
