When do you feel a temp she become a permanent? / myLot

I have been a temp at a job going on 5 months now. When do you feel you are no longer a temp? When do you approach your employer? Or do you enjoy the perks and not worry about the stability?

If you've done your job well and you're confident that your employer is happy with you, you have nothing to fear. Go up and ask to be hired.

This situation is a little bit tricky. They just go bought out by another company. Everyone here had to start over from the beginning they lost their vacation and everything. I am the only temp, I do plan to ask but i am worried they will tell me it will be longer. I don't know if I will like that response.
