My Bills Are Making Me Depressed...

Okay, for the first time in a long time - we are really cutting it close on our monthly expenses. I have done everything I can to cut down un-needed costs - like our NetFlix subscription. It's just that it really upsets me that I handle this all on my own and everything is weighing down on my shoulders. If I think about it too much - it will ruin my entire day! Any suggestions on how to free my mind of this concern that's on my mind 24/7?

Well I'd say try and think positive! If you indeed ARE making ends meet, and you have enough to eat, enough gas ect (the necessities!) then I would say you are fine! Sure it sucks to live payday to payday, but rest easy, it will get better!

Thank you! We are making it with everything needed. It's just really tight. I keep telling myself it will get better. I'm just not used to this sort of thing.

try to make little cuts, like driving less no extra trips to the store or just for pleasure.Buy store brand items instead of name brand.Turn off your cable or satelite tv service...Pay the necessities first and then pay whatever you can on your other bills...take the smallest debt owed i pay as much as you can on that one bill.when it is paid off move to the next one..It might take awhile but eventually you'll see the light at the end of the tunnel...We are in the process of paying off our credit card debt in this manner right now...just do your best and dont focus on it 24/7....

This person gave great advice! Take showers instead of bathes & take them quickly to help cut down on the water bill. You can take a good shower, wash your body & hair in 5mns (hey if I can do it anyone can!) Turn the lights off when you leave the room. Don't use lights during the day unless you HAVE TO. Open window blinds to let light in. Don't leave the water running when you wash dishes or brush your teeth... Not great advice but every little bit will help! Oh and only use hot water to wash your clothes if you HAVE TO.

The thing is - I have done just about all of that. I shop for our food at a discount food store that sells alot of off brand items. I save a ton that way. Then on top of that, over the past couple months I've cut about $60/month on our grocery bill. Not alot but it counts for something. I would turn off my computer but I need it for selling on ebay and with my small children - I can't go to the library to use theirs. I explained to my children to keep lights off during the day - I tell them that's what God made the sun for. So we only use the lights at night and turn them off as we leave the room. Thanks for the comment! Good Advice for everyone out there!

Allow yourself worry time for 1hour a day and no more. During that hour think how you can cut back or save on other things. And then forget all about it, so you can get on with your life worry free. Do you have someone that can help you support you with this problem?

Hi there! I have my husband but his job all day long is hearing about everyone else's problems. He works in the mortgage business with people that have their homes in foreclosure and can't afford them. He hears sob stories all day long.
