Man do we go thru some food! My husband eats like a horse. We probably spend $200.00 aweek. There are only 3 of us. What's your budget?

We are not light eaters. One teenager, one young boy that's always hungry, and one in between. Then the adults. Over all, we spend about $150 per week. However, we often buy in bulk, we get our meat from an in-law who raises them, and we grow a lot of vegetables in the warm months, of which all the excess is stored in various ways. So, we cut our costs as much as we can. Another thing to keep in mind is our grocery bill may be a little higher, but we seldom eat out, so how much we spend on restaurant food is VERY little.

We spend that amount in two weeks and we have 4 in our family, 2 kids (one that eats a fair amount) and 2 adults and i would consider saying that my hubby eats a fair amount also. We are just careful what we buy and make weekly menus and filling foods such as pastas

We spend $150 a week on groceries for a family of 6! I really have to budget to do this. I never take my kids to the store with me because it will cost an additional $50 from junk they want. I also budget $30 a week so my hubby and I can go out for dinner one night alone.

lol isn't that the truth. Half the store winds up in my cart if I'm not careful. The one exception being my oldest boy. I give him the coupons and he finds the best deal. He's seems to have a touch of OCD (nothing clinical) so he loves it. :) We spend about $200 week for a family of 7, including the two (small) dogs. I'm aiming for $150 though.

You are not alone! But we have 5 in our household, I think that $200-$250 a week is still WAY too much for 5 of us. We do have to have alot of convenience foods around though because we all have very busy lives and never really have planned meals, sad I know! I also find that healthier food choices are alot more expensive than other foods that I could choose. I think this is a shame and wish it was less expensive to eat in a healthy way. In the summer it is a little easier for us to save on produce because we started our own garden:) I love the fact that we can save money and have fresh fruit and veggies at our disposal...maybe you could try this out? It's very easy, especially tomatoes, and fun too if you have a little one to do this with!
