keep trying. i once blew up an egg in the microwave. rough day, i know. i babysat again for that family, and the girl began to tell me of the idiot babysitter who blew up an egg in the microwave one time.
on a serious note, you really protected those kids, but it's up to you!

If it's a constant habit of the parent(s), then yes I do think it's bad. A child should spend 90% of their childhood with their parents, not their baby sitter that watches tv and makes sure they are ok.
