3D solar system model

My child has to build a model of the solar system, it has to be three-dimensional and somewhat to scale. Also has to do a written and oral presentation on one planet -- either Jupiter or Uranus. Any suggestions?

Take a look at the NASA website. They have all kinds of information. I had to create a teaching unit on the solar system to use with my 1st graders, and I got a lot of help here.
I would suggest you find styrofoam balls of different sizes and paint them to somewhat look like the planets they are supposed to represent. Find something you can hang them from in the correct order.
