It's The Little Things..

Did you ever have a day where someone did or said something that doesn't seem like much..but it really just made your day..made you really happy for some reason? Most of you probably know nothing about this, but I love to sing and about a year ago I discovered online karaoke. There are sites online where you can go, pick a song to sing, and sing and record it for the other members of the site to listen to. You go around and listen to theirs and leave comments and they come listen to you and leave comments..everyone is very sweet and supportive, so you don't even have to be able to sing. They will tell you how wonderful you are anyway..it's great LOL. Anywho..the point..yeah, I do have one around here somewhere.. so today I was doing some listens and I listened to a song done by a girl I've seen posting songs before but I've never gone to listen to, and she was very good, so I left a comment telling her I really liked it. So, she sent me back a private message thanking me for the listen..which is something most people will do..but she said she was very happy that I liked her song because she always loves listening to me and always checks to see if I've done a song if she wants to know how it goes. She never comments when she listens, so I had no idea she knew who I was even. Not a big deal really, a nice compliment..but it just made me feel really good. So.. here's the thing.. we've all heard sayings like "little things mean alot", "don't frown, because at any moment someone may be falling in love with your smile' or however it goes...do you believe that and try to do things, even just giving someone a small compliment, or giving someone a small gift if they've done something nice? have you had anything like that happen to you..something little and unexpected that just really made your day?

The little things are very important. One off-handed remark can really make your day, or break it. Ever noticed how the reverse is true as well? Someone can say something negative in a certain way, at the wrong time, and you whole outlook and day can fall apart. Granted, I like the nice comments much better. So Suze, where do you go online to sing and do the online karaoke?

exactly! ya just never know how something you do or say to someone will affect them..and sometimes the smallest thing someone does can really make or break your day..or change your whole attitude or feeling about something forever..its a very strange thing. I sing online now at a site called singsnap.com. its by invitation only, so you can't listen or sing unless someone sends you an invite, but its a lot of fun. I'm not the best singer in the world by any means, but I love to do it, and its a lot of fun. Even if you don't sing, its fun to listen and comment on people's songs..and they have message boards where people can issue song challenges or start games..or just chat about whatever with other people on the site..and they have a chatroom also where people can chat together and people can go in there and sing live to the room, rather than record and have people listen that way. It's a blast! Yesterday was disco day and everyone recorded their favorite disco songs all day..that was so much fun! If anyone wants an invite just PM me your email address and let me know! I used to sing on a site called Ksolo.com...and you dont have to be a member there to listen .but their recording equipment is not half as good and they charge you to be able to sing.. I sounded like crap on there ..but singsnap RULES! lol

Yes I have had it and isn't wonderful when that happens. with my magazine someone will write in and say that was just what I needed to hear, and I get that all the time. Different pieces affect people differently but people do appreciate the little things.
