Most of us use mobile phones and many of them will get shocked on seeing their mobile phone bills at the end of the month. They don't know that these bills can be reduced if they follow simple measures, which I am going to discuss here! These may sound silly for some, but I hope this will be useful for those who wish to get their mobile bill reduced. This is compiled by myself in mind and how i have been using the phone for the past 3 years, so not all of them will be applicaple for all, excuse. 1. Choose Your Operator Wisely. Choose your operator wisely. Analyse who is doing good service and don't charge you excess unnecesarily. Check who has good customer service. Check who's best in your area, consult your friends. 2. Stop sending sms's to special numbers (three, four, five, six digit numbers). Many of us do not know that sending messages to these 4-digit numbers are costlier than normal sms because the amount will be shared between the mobile phone company and those who own that number. Most of use these numbers to know cricket scores, important news, try to avoid those to the maximum get to know from other sources like websites (when you are in office), friends, or make a call (which is even cheaper than sending sms's to these special numbers). The companies earn revenue whereas you lose yours if you send sms thru their numbers. 3. Avoid Missed-Callers. There is a recent spurt in the so-called missed-callers, who just give missed calls and make the users call them. Avoid those calls unless if you feel that those caller is an important person. 4. Count Your Calls. Yes, you can actually count your calls or note down your calls in your cellphone in the Remainder section of your cellphone. This will be very useful for those who have fixed number of free calls available with their postpaid connection. Once you have reached your free call limits, you start restricting or filtering your calls into important, very important calls and avoid not so important calls or postpone it. 5. Read the conditions apply. Most of the cellullar phone providers try to get more money from customers by offering services like detailed bills, special services like word-a-day, astrology services, cricket which they charge every month. Cancel all these services by calling their customer service (if it exists!!). 6. Stop downloading ringtones, pic messages, etc. You can stop downloading ringtones, pic messages, etc. unless if you feel it is important. Most of us don't use the compose settings in our cellphones to get ringtones, which you can easily create your own tones also and if you get the codes for populer songs, that you can copy it easily. 6. Choose CUG Most of the operators give a service called closed user group, where the calls between selected callers will not be billed.

Not all service providers give this option. If you use post paid most of the time, you will get only the duration of time you have used while talking but you cannot keep track of the number of calls made during that particular month. And again as said above this is based on my usage and it could vary user by user. thanx for responding.
