I am not yet debt free but I can't wait till the day I can yell this at the top of my lungs. Can anyone else relate? Wouldn't it feel really good.

Everyone wants to be but not everyone tries to be.

We've paid off 15K in a year and a half. We still have a ways to go. I can't wait to be totally debt free. But, with student loans I'm looking at 30 years!

That is so great! I wish I could be where you are. We are trying though.

Well, we just took out a home loan. So, unless I come into a great deal of money in the near future, I'm probably going to be in debt for at least another 30 years.

I don't know if you know this but it doesn't cost very much a month to pay down you loan in 15 years. I figured out it was about $100-$150 extra on my mortgage. You might want to try doing that. 15 years is better than 30.

Debt free would be wonderful. We're not there yet though. Saw where someone mentioned they just took out a 30-yr mortgage? When we had a 30-yr I paid $50 extra a month on ours. It really made a difference on the principal. When we refinanced to get the lower interest rate a couple years ago we got a 20 year mortgage. The 15 pushed the payments a little too high. Oh well, one of these days we'll get there on being debt free!!
