I cant believe Don Imus was fired from both of his talk show jobs 1 with CBS and the other with MSNBC because of the comment he made. This is ridiculous. Our constitution has in it freedom of speech it doesnt say as long as your not a talk show host or radio host. No in this country we have freedom of speech to say whatever it is we like. And because some college girls got alittle bit offended by so called racial comments a man is fired. Its stupid Now dont get me wrong im not racist nor do i think what Imus said was right but I beileve non the less he had the right to say it just like the ones offended have the right to say what they feel in return but firing him for it is just plain going to far. Imus didnt go to far when he said what he did. Wrong...Yes but he didnt deserve to be fired for what he said. If people dont agree with him. DONT LISTEN TO HIM. thats your choice if your listening to him and are offended then turn the show off. This just goes to show that you only have rights in this country until the higer ups or corprate america say other wise now how right is that ? What Don Imus said wasnt right and firing him wasnt either, there are no winners in this I think those college girls at rutgers and anyone else offended by what he said needs to flat out GROW-UP.

If my sister or niece was called a 'ho' on a national radio and TV program, I would be more than a 'little bit offended.' Freedom of speech doens't mean you can say anything anywhere. People who are insulted by his comments--which included many employees inside CBS and NBC--also have freedom of speech, and they made it very clear to their management that Imus's comments were unacceptable. With free speech come responsibility and accountability. Imus himself said it best: “I said a stupid, idiotic thing that hurt these kids,” he said of the Rutgers players, as quoted by the New York Times. “If I hadn’t have said it, we wouldn’t be here. So let’s stop whining about it.” Most people I hear complaining about Imus on Mylot admit they don't listen to his show, don't know his long history of nasty insults, and know nothing about the players he insulted.

this isnt a matter of what his said was offensive..everyone knows that..I know that what he said was wrong there is no doubt about that at all. what was wrong was his firing. I do listen to Imus on radio alot of have heard the things he has said and to be honest he has said worst than this..alot worst but now just because so second rate college basketball team was offended they get all this media attention taken out on one man. My God the music that they listen to probably everyday the rap music says the same thing in just about every song. but the difference is..They like those rappers they like the songs...so its OK to call them Ho's ..but now that a talk show shock jock has said it...now there offended its ridiculous. the only reason rutgers players have gone this far is to get the school media attention and bring attention to the rutgers school. Thats it. to bump up recruiting in the fall for the new school year. and thats the truth to this. Anybody in the rap industry can call girls in general not just black girls Ho's everyday of there like but because Imus has now done it..its hurtful and they got him fired. and freedom of speech does mean you can say what you feel thats the bottom line being able to say what you feel. and like i said before it doesnt say "as long as your not on TV" Point blank IMUS is the one who was discriminated against in the long run not the rutgers players
