Investigations are under way that the #1 closer in all of baseball had a chalky substance under the brim of his cap that he applied to the ball on two different occasions. If such is true, Bud Selig (the commissioner of baseball) has announced a 10 game suspension for each incident would be in order. 10 games?! I think that seems ridiculous. Cheaters ruin the integrity of the game. He should be suspended for the year, for one incident. I can't imagine a ten game suspension would deter another player from finding a way to cheat to improve his performance or his team's chances of winning a ball game. One win for 10 games is the trade off? What if that one win is Game 7 of the World Series? I'd say that's a pretty good trade, cheating to ensure a victory of such proportions, while sitting out 10 relatively meaningless games the following season. Now, obviously the World Series situation is purely hypothetical, but nevertheless proves a pretty valid point. What do you think? Is ten games a reasonable penalty for a cheater? And do you think F-Rod may be guilty of cheating?
